RE: [RC] [RC] opening gates? - Jessica CameronHaving a horse that will politely stand, without you having to hang onto the reins is another really nice trait for a horse. That way, on those really tough gates (where you have to use a rope to pully it back into place), you don't have to worry about hanging onto your horse or your horse running off. Ground tying is a great thing to teach any horse. But it's also important to have a horse that will let you open the "easy" gates from his back. I've used my horse to move cattle at a feedlot and it's great to have a horse that knows how to open the gates and push them with his nose and then will politely sidepass and keep you from stretching to close the darn thing.Jessica in MT From: heidi@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx _________________________________________________________________ Get the latest Windows Live Messenger 8.1 Beta version.?Join now. http://ideas.live.com =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
