Re: [RC] Bad gut sounds? - Chris PausA vet explained to me that a horse's gut sounds should sound kinda like a washing machine.
"bad" gut sounds is quiet. If you put your ear to your horse's side, you should be able to hear pretty steady gurgling sounds. That is good. Too much gurgling and he's got a tummy ache. Too little means not enough food going through, gut action is shutting down, dehydrated, something such as that. I'm sure one of the vets can explain it better.

Pretty soon you guys are going to be tired of me and tell me to go pick someone else's brains! I've got another question. When you are listening to your horse's gut sounds, what does "bad" sound like? -- Chelsea Marsh chelsea_marsh@xxxxxxxxxxx =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
