My horse is a
tick magnet. The Equispot works OK on him plus I spray him with Deep Woods Off.
If you use EquiSpot and decide to spray as well use a different chemical. So if
the ES is pyrethrin you should use permethrin or Deet (according to my vet) I’ve
used the Deep Woods Off for a few years now and it works well. I have a few
friends that swear by feeding garlic in tick season to keep them away.

I've got a problem
I've never had before--and am sure somebody out there knows the
answer. I have several horses in a neighbor's huge, brushy,
almost-wilderness pasture. They have been there all summer - but just the
past couple of weeks I have been finding their chests, "armpits", and
lower necks covered with TICKS!! Little grey ticks.
What can I use to kill these ticks - is there a dip to use? There are far
too many to just pick off. Then - what can I use to repel these
ticks big-time?? FWIW, these ticks are not found in their
manes or ears. I've also walked through this same area and none of the
ticks has gotten on me--unlike the brown ticks that drop out of trees.
