RE: [RC] Cost of horses - there is more to the story - David LeBlancHeidi said: Our place has nearly doubled in value since we bought it--not sure how to figure that as a "cost" of having horses, since land in many places is an excellent investment in its own right. I was talking to a neighbor's father a while back, and he told me he'd made a lot of money on horses. I asked him how he figured that, and he explained that the land had appreciated quite a bit. We're only on 5 acres, but the land has appreciated quite a bit in the last 7 years, and it does offset some of the costs. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
