Re: [RC] Horses that don't run off (after dumping you) - Karen SullivanThis is why I train my horses to come when I call "who wants a goodie?"...I always reward them with food; and carry carrots with me when I ride. Karen ----- Original Message ----- From: "Barb Peck" <bpeck9191@xxxxxxxxxxxx> ) Krista said something that made me think. When my 4 year old dumped me in a big field - We were alone and h he could have run home (barn could be seen in the distance)- he could have run out into the highway... but he lapped the 10 acre field acouple of times (doing some spectacular hand stands) - then he stopped about 200 feet from me. I called him- and he trotted right over to me. To me that's a good sign (not that I got dumped- but that at 4 he didn't leave me there) That was his saving grace that day. Barb Kristi said in part: Bless that little horse, he always came back and looked down at my prone figure like he wondered why in the world I was down there. There's nothing like seeing a horse's muzzle from the prone position to make you start giggling and forget how angry/sore/embarrassed you are.
