I actually had a local gal tell me it was a good thing she
wasn't wearing a helmet when a motorcycle spooked her Quarter horse
on pavement & she smashed her head on the street. Her response was
that she "went out like a light" instead of staying coherent ( & with less
head trauma I would think. ) She honestly believed it was the best way to go !
She was pretty touch & go for several weeks. I used to hire her to
haul horses , as she did this as part of her living, and I now wouldn't feel
comfortable with her decision making cells ! BTW- The horse was known to
be a problem waiting to happen, not a solid trail mount. I always wear a
helmet to protect my brain cells- both of them ! Be Safe !
