[RC] Stonewall Saddle for Slab-Sided Horse? - wicherd

I am having a tough time finding a saddle for my narrow, slab-sided, substantial
withered Arab.  So far, every saddle I have tried slips back, even when using a
breastplate.  I started him out in a Cordura western saddle and since then have
tried several saddles with the last three being a Barefoot Cheyenne treeless,
Marciante, and Wintec Pro Dressage (which I am currently riding him in and
have been off and on for the past year and half while trying to find a better-fitting
saddle).

I have been looking at the Stonewall Saddle and am wondering if anyone has
an experience with them, especially with narrow horses.  I tried searching the
archives, but didn't get a lot of info.  The description on the website sounds
like this saddle might work for him.  I am getting so frustrated with this that
I have started taking driving lessons and have considered getting my boy
training to harness, but I'm not sure he has the disposition for it ;-).... I think
we need to start hitting the trails again.

I am open to any other saddle suggestions.... and am willing to try treeless
again (I loved the Barefoot, but he was getting awful loin rubs).

Thanks,
Dana and Raleigh, my slab-sided silly pony
