Re: [RC] Hitting a "wall at 75 miles? - Truman PrevattMany runners talk about the "wall" at about 20 miles of a marathon. Many cyclist talk about it at about 70 miles. Jon Warren who ought to know since he's seen enough endurance horses says the wall for horses is about 80 miles. He has often said the difference between a good endurance horse and a great one is the good ones manage to make it the last 20 and the great ones race the last 20.I think there is a difference between the "wall" which is basically running low on glycogen and a psycholoical dip that normally comes about 60 to 70 miles which also is the heat of the day. That dip they will normally recover from, but if the truly "hit the way" and are low on glycogen and need to go slow to finish if they do finish- they should recovered after you stop.
