'safe' horse keeping Re: [RC] email from IGNORANT person - Elizabeth ChaseFunny (not) you should say this, Angie, 'cause I have recently adopted a former eventer from the rescue where I've done a bit of volunteer work..... that's exactly the life he had, plus regular administrations of bute and steroids to prop him up..... after that no longer 'worked', he got dumped. Caleb is 17.2 1/2 hands, lol, and either likes to just stand around, or it has become a habit from such close quarters. He makes a great counterpoint to my Teke-cross mare, who rolls the play ball under him (sorta like goal-posts, I guess) then does her little 'dance', then noses it around to 'shoot' again and again..... (she's 15 hands...) btw, I read about 'Dan the Mule Man' in your book over dinner at work tonight, and wound up reading it aloud to share WHY I was laughing aloud and snickering so much.... love the book, and being a newbie, love the 'introduction'.... your tales kind of inspire me to jot down the fun we have for future re-telling....
