Another interesting use for alfalfa, at least according to
U.C.Davis, is to feed a horse that has been starved and is still severely
underweight. I thought that was so counterintuitive, but that's what they
recommend.

was just reading and found this statement and was curious: **About the
only non-pharmaceutical treatment that has been considered useful for ulcers
is alfalfa hay, and that's mostly for stomach ulcers (helps keep the acid
down).**
