Is an image really required for the
spammer to know that they "hit" a valid e-mail address?
I get a lot of spam, because I have an
internet ad, but none of the filters work -- what happens is that most
of the spam still comes through, and the *real* e-mails that I want are
filtered out.
if I send you some spam, I stick an image in
there - maybe just a pixel wide - that corresponds to your e-mail address.
When you open the mail and the image displays, the rotten spammer knows that
your e-mail address is active,
