Is the idea to make it so that the ride is like an LD ride and that the
horse that "recovers" first becomes the winner.

Hadn't thought of the "like an LD" twist. But you're right, it basically 
factors recovery time into the finish.


Or is John Teeter mistaken????

Wouldn't THAT be a unique situation!! We'll just have to wait and see what our 
roving reporter comes up with tomorrow:)
