[RC] Day 5 Grand Canyon Photos - Dream Weaverhttp://xprides.com/2006GC/DAY5/DAY5.html We started out yesterday with a 20 degree temperature in the snow. It was an incredible morning and the day turned out to be one of the best ones you could ever hope for on an endurance ride. Imagine the most incredible scenery made even more beautiful by white snow, clean air, blue skies with just enough clouds for perfect lighting for photos. I had a great ride on Zenos (he's getting more like his brother!), it was such a great experience for him getting to ride in these kinds of extreme conditions. The best way to learn how to go thru snow, mud, ice and slippery conditions is to do it! How many people get to ride in snow and scenery like that? It was wonderful!! Way better than riding in hot or humid conditions. We used the new aggressive tread boots the first day in all of the rain and loved them (wish I'd had them for day 2 of Lost Padres this year). I used Epics and Bares on Z the last day and that worked well. Many of the horses used boots as it kept the snow from balling up.I have been adding videos that I took during the week. I've got a few more to add.
