Take the adage "first do no harm" as your starting point and give it a try. When we have horses with cruddy manes or tails we often use ivermectin topically, and we haven't the foggiest idea of what we might be killing. We do, however, know that in our warm weather and with the abundant local fauna, our horses are as prone to fun infestations as we are.Topical ivermectin isn't going to hurt anyone, so what have you got to lose other than a couple of bucks.
