[RC] Riding in Chaps - Karen CasemierI used to live in full chaps from about October through April. They are not very comfortable when new, but once they break in I always enjoyed riding in them (you can check ebay for used chaps and save yourself the break in time). Extra warmth and protection from burrs/prickers whatever. Added bonus... more stick when the horses get the winter sillies.I'm only 5'2", and I've never needed custom chaps. You can take them to any tack repair (or for that matter, shoe repair) shop and have them shorten them for you. I prefer the suede to the leather for the siimple reason that I can throw the suede into the washing machine (with the appropriate type of detergent, of course). =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
