[RC] mane mites/allergies - Diane Daymy animals have sure gone through skin issues and allergies. The best things I've found to treat them all is ACV, Vitamin C and kelp. Thanks Amy for your information. I am not familiar with ACV though - what is that? My vet did not do a skin scraping - but that makes sense to do one. I will ask him. He just kind of shrugged his shoulders and said "we have a lot of allergies down here.." and gave me the prednisone. I have tried different foods - lamb and rice mostly and one very very expensive anti allergy dog food that I saw in a friend's vet's. I used it about 2 months or more, did not see any improvement. Maybe I should have stayed with it longer. I have her on a supplement with omega 3 oils - nothing yet from that so far. I did see that Platinum, which is a supplement I use for my horses, has one for dogs. I was thinking of trying that. But if you have had success with these you have written about - I will look into them. A good personal experience is worth paying attention to. DianeD -- No virus found in this outgoing message.
