Re: [RC] question on electric portable corrals and blanketed horses? - M Paul latiolaisWe actually use 12' livestock panels--they are heavy and a bugger to put up and take down, but they are worth every ounce of the effort for the safety of my horses (not only from getting out but from having other horses get in) and for my peace of mind. I second what Heidi said. I have seen this happen more than once at ridecamp with electric fences and loose horses. Also, if they run into and break those PVC fences, it can leave a nasty jagged spear. I am able to put up and take down those twelve foot panels without help, although it is easier and much appreciated when I can get help. When I first started endurance I had my mechanic weld metal "hooks" on the side of my trailer for them. I can get three on a side and secure them with bungees. if I have one horse I use three panels and the side of the trailer, or six panels and the side of the trailer for a nice round pen for two horses. This works very well for me and my horses. -Paul =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
