[RC] long-beds V. short-beds and goosenecks - Lucy Chaplin TrumbullWe've currently got a short-bed truck and a gooseneck trailer. We're contemplating getting a long-bed truck, but with the positioning of the hitch relative to the back of the bed, can't figure out how there could be enough space between the *open* tailgate and front of trailer to work. I'm sure there must be, but we can't work the math. Right now, when my tailgate is open, there's enough room to slide between the back edge of the tailgate and the spare tyre on the front of the underside of the gooseneck. I was hoping to put an extra water tank or propane bottles on the front-underside of the gooseneck, but with a long bed, will there be space? or will I no longer be able to squeeze through there?
