Re: [RC] What do riders eat during a ride - M Paul latiolaisDiana and everyone,I have been working on an article for the Pacific Northwest Newsletter about that very subject. Most of the info came from "mining" ridecamp archives. A lot of people have talked about this over the years. I will share it on ridecamp when I am done. Bottom line: Eat what you normally eat with the caveat that it not be squishy or perishable. Spread it out over the day, and make sure you take in enough salt (electrolytes) and fluids. Within those parameters there is a LOT of variation possible. Power bars, energy bars, gorp (trail mix), fruit (frozen or not), pepperoni sticks ( Old Wisconsin, NOT Hickory Farms) , smoked almonds. I always take a diet pepsi with me, but my horse is gaited. I would not recommend that for most riders. -Paul On Oct 2, 2006, at 5:33 AM, Diana Peterson wrote: Hi =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
