RE: [RC] What do riders eat during a ride - Karen Standefer

The main thing for me is hydration and electrolytes.  I have enough
"reserves" to not need too much food (I'm only doing 50's though).  I eat a
power bar or too and I choose the ones with lots of potassium and the least
sugar.  I make sure to get at least 40 oz of water per loop and then I
consume a 32oz bottle of Organic Vegetable Juice between the two checks.  I
feel like a million bucks after the ride if I do this.  Sometimes I'll pack
half a peanut butter sandwich with just a little honey in it.

I would like to ask this question.

What do riders eat during a ride ??

Here in Texas during the hot rides it is hard to keep things form melting. I

usually take powerbars ,protein bars ... and friut jello.
I have to make myself eat ...as during the ride i am usually not hungry. But

if i don't eat i get too weak.
However i found that KM liquid is a great help. I would just like to know 
what other people eat during rides to keep them going ...
