Just wanted to drop a quick note and thank everyone for their advice concerning my first 50 attempt. I really appreciate everyone taking the time to respond. I really enjoyed Bruce and Truman's post. No, FL doesn't have the amazing challenges you guys out west face, but the 'gators can make an interesting obstacle, though the tails are quite tasty.

 

I'd also like to hear more about getting through the 3rd loop blues as Julienne asked about. Incidently I started reading her blog years ago when she too was starting out on LDs. When she completed her first 50 this past summer, it was one of the things that convinced me it was time to put up or shut-up too.
