I'm happy to report that a rider who fractured his left ankle, left fibula
and pelvis (5 months) ago, rode along the Pony Express and Oregon Trails
today. He actually used every gait, including hand gallop. The day
was brilliantly blue and windy, but "the day" had finally arrived to face what
"the ride" would bring. (There was a slight twinge in the pelvic girdle,
but the biological changes seemed to have held up.)
The horse guided the rider back to the trail he thought he'd never see
again.
Though all the emotional issues aren't totally fixed, Big Horn 100 is
on.
