I believe it was Equus magazine that had an article about the
big inaccuraties of aging by teeth. I believe the study
was done in England and the vets were wrong a significant
number of times.  I too had a vet tell me my horse was about
five years older than his papers showed.  I know his papers 
were correct.  I would trust the papers before the vet.
