Re: [RC] opinion on sway bars - Karen SullivanSounds a bit like overkill.....if your hitch is the correct LEVEL to keep the trailer also level, then I see no need for sway bars (unless you do freeway driving in an extremely windy area?). I did have an equalizing hitch with sway bars on my old set up, which was a Dodge dually with a huge camper, plus a 5 horse stock trailer. It was the only way I could be legally rated to tow that trailer since I had an extended hitch due to the camper hanging over back of truck. It was a weight equalizing hitch (Husky), with a Reese Titan hitch and extension....made me safe to tow 10,000 lbs.
