Re: [RC] Foundation QH calculations - Robert RWhat you are saying, believe it or not, is exactly what the foundation registry is about. That is why it is a blood registry. No one, to my knowledge, can ascert that any breed has no blood other than their own. Even the TB and the noble Arabians came from somewhere in their early days. The whole point is that there are a lot of folks, and I am one of them, who prefer the original conformation and abilities of the early QHs and thus, the foundation blood with no recent outcrosses. That is how to preserve those characteristics. I was recently (two or three years ago) at the AQHA American Royal show. I didn't see a horse in the ring that I would have walked across the street to get for free--the modern QH just isn't my cup of tea. So my preference is in a blood registry closed to outcrossing in the QHs style I like. The point of the foundation blood registry has nothing to do with prohibiting recent TB or other outcrosses. Those horses have their place within the already exhisting structure of the AQHA. They are appendix QHs. The prohibition and percentage blood merely is an instrument to protect a particular phenotype of QH within an existing breed registry and that is the Foundation Quarter Horse.----- Original Message ----- From: "Sky Ranch" <skyranch@xxxxxxxx> To: "Barb Peck" <bpeck9191@xxxxxxxxxxxx>; <ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, September 27, 2006 5:28 PM Subject: Re: [RC] Foundation QH calculations
