I am just the opposit of what people have been suggesting.  I used to get my 
5 gallon buckets from the deli next door.  They originally held pepperacini 
and were really strong.  My horses got grain in them until they got used to 
the smell.  At a ride, where sometimes the water is different and the horses 
don't drink as much, mine always drank from their deli buckets cause it 
smelled like home...............mb
