Re: [RC] trailer tires - Sisu West Ranch

"....my load range E with G even ..."

Don't forget that the use of load range G will not give noticable benefit unless the pressure is also increased to a higher value.  The major reason for increase in allowable weight with load range is that you can inflate to a higher pressure.  Load range E max pressure 80#, load range G 110# (if I remember correctly).

At the risk of repeating myself:  The most important thing you can do to prevent a blowout is to maintain the "cold" (driven less than 10 miles) tire pressure at the proper level.  What is the proper level?  That is determined by the weight as measured on the scale, not to exceed the maximum*  value molded into the side wall, which is the pressure for the load carrying capacity listed next to it on the sidewall.

Less pressure yields more heat buildup.  High tire temperature is a leading cause of blowouts.  Even Firestone tires rarely blow unless they are not inflated to the proper level.

*Actually you can inflate 10 or so pounds over the max listed value and increase tire capicity, and lower the temperature, but you will increase the chances of a tire failure from a road hazard.  You pays your money and you takes your choice.
