Re: [RC] trailer tires - Truman PrevattThe biggest villain is ultraviolet radiation. Ultraviolet will degrade rubber/plastic products. If you cover/protect the tires (and you can buy covers for RV/trailer tires at places like Camper World) they will last longer. But at about 4 to 5 years the rubber has deteriorated to the point that it has lost enough of its strength and flexibility that heat generated by driving will cause the sidewalls to blow out.Truman Lynne Glazer wrote: I agree with Gary. I had two tires on the same side blow out when they were 6 years old, when hauling. Tread looked great, the oxidation and who knows what else from living in Smogland took it's toll. -- “You can't separate peace from freedom because no one can be at peace unless he has his freedom.” Malcolm X =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
