[RC] Mold in probiotics - Susan G??? - Kristi Schaaf

I bought a jug of liquid probiotics from a well-known
equine supplement company. I first used it 6 months
ago, and all looked fine. The other day when I went to
use it again, it was FULL of mold - big gross globs of
mold. I called the company and the rep told me that
she had an email right in front of her from the
company president addressing that issue. The email
said that the presence of mold in probiotics is a GOOD
thing - it means that the probiotics are active and
working well. I'm still very leary of feeding my
horses mold (maybe since I'm allergic to mold, I have
attached an unfair negative connotation?). Anyway,
Susan G, or anyone else schooled in such things, are
mold-filled probiotics safe to use? Kristi iluvdez at

Life's a journey, so enjoy the ride (and try not to fall off)
