[RC] Swiss boots - Sheila_Larsen

When I was doing the "barefoot thing" I used Swiss boots and loved them.
The first time one came off it was cantering up hill and my mare just
stopped and kicked a couple of time. I used them on all four. They are
easy to put on and easy to take off (I just pried them off with a screw
driver, someone suggested a motorcycle tire iron but I just used the
screwdriver). I never used them on an endurance ride but boy did I put the
miles and hours on them. They rarely ever came off, maybe three times and
I went through some thick mud, I'd look down - still there. Canter up
hill - still there (ok except for that one time) Her heel bulbs would be
slightly compressed but she never gave any indication of soreness and she
is not stoic. They wore really well. I did have a friend who said after
about 30 miles there would be rubbing around the coronary band that made
her horse sore but I didn't have problems and you could probably cut them
down a tad. Correct fitting is the solution. I can give you the name of a
person that uses them and fits them that might be able to give pointers on
fitting if you need it, just ask me privately.
