[RC] Introducing your horse to a crupper - labdoggy

This is the way I introduced my horse to a crupper and I must say it worked
pretty well!
When I was home picking stalls or the run-ins (when I would be around so that
this was somewhat supervised)...I would put a curcingle (sp) on her with a
breast collar hooked up to it so it wouldn't slide back. I then attached the
crupper (had to jerry rig this seeing as the length of the crupper wasn't long
enough to reach the curcingle(sp?). Then I would just turn her out and let her
graze and move around. I did this for quite some time. It really helped
desensitize her to it. Of course I lunged her also fully saddled. I lunged
her on a slope so that when she was coming back down-hill the crupper would
"goose" her.
