RE: [RC] Slaughter/Breeding - heidi

Tiffany, "hazing, crap, and insults" were exactly what I got.  And again, they didn't even HAVE the horse when I first became aware of his situation--given the way I was initially treated, "falling into their clutches" was what I was frantically trying to PREVENT in the beginning.

Ugly statements?  Yes.  But so was the way that my attempt to do the right thing was thrown back at me.  In the end, we did indeed get it worked out.  But the point I was trying to make is that MOST people, even if WILLING to do the right thing initially, would have given up long before realizing success, faced with that kind of reception.  And I stand by that point.  It was made pointedly clear to me at the outset that allowing a breeder to take back a horse was something that they were loathe to do, and I was indeed hazed, insulted, and had to duck a lot of crap.

If you re-read her post you'll see some pretty glaring insults. Fall into their clutches? Hazing, crap and insults? Those are pretty ugly statements and I don't think people who save horses deserve it. Zealots? More like people who cared about horses and tried to do something to save them. Heidi was the one who started saying outrageous things, and it wasn't a big secret that it was the AHRN who SAVED the horse.
I'm glad she took him back, but to call out the people responsible for saving him in the first place seems mean spirited in the way that it was presented.

Heidi did not name the rescue or name any individual. How uncool of you to get so personal.

That's not quite fair, for if it hadn't been for that rescue actually rescuing your club footed stallion, he wouldn't even be alive.
I commend you for doing the right thing, but to throw stones at the AHRN who has rescued so many horses seems, well, wrong.
I got my two rescues from them with no problems at all.
