Re: [RC] [RC] vent and question on leash/bag - Marta Kozlowska

i guess i got used to not getting off when riding ctr's and that's the
mind frame i'm in. but i understand the logic. i also understand the
possible problems with loops of string attached to the saddle. i have
to say that the retractable leash idea karen mentioned, sounds better
the more i think of it. i just have to figure out how to attach
something that bulky to my saddle... but i think i'm going to try to
do that. this way i have a loooong leash when needed that leaves no
hanging strings when it's retracted up.

Marta-

Believe it or not, the short leash may be prefered by some. Many get off
their horse to sponge, so don't want a leash that is long enough to sponge
from the saddle, as it increases the odds of it getting caught or tangled on
something. Long leashes do get all twisted up, and it is a nusiance to
unravel them. Numerous times I've had it get loose and end up dangling
around my horse's legs. Despite that, I prefer a long leash.
