Re: [RC] Response to the [RC] WEG -- the USA team - kseits@xxxxxxxxxpost - Truman PrevattNot at all if you bother to read it. Carl Lewis could not run the 4x100 although the track coach wanted him to because he was an alternate and none of the four - particularly the person the track coach wanted to replace because of lack of experience - were unable to run. This was cited as an example of why taking the leeway away from management is not always the best approach.Truman heidi@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx wrote: Truman, your post is contradictory. You cite a great example about Carl Lewis--who MISSED being on the relay team because he LOST in the head-to-head competition of selection but who had other skills (his experience in passing the baton and his status as a seasoned veteran who could "take it") that probably would have gotten the gold for the USA. -- “The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in higher esteem those who think alike than those who think differently.” Friedrich Nietzsche, The Dawn =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
