Re: [RC] [RC] Sheepskin pads - Robert RWe raised sheep for the wool. I think you will run a high likelihood of felting if you let your machine agitate it. We wash ours with a gentle detergent (used to buy special Orvis soap but gentle laundry detergent works great, you can use shampoo to but we were afraid of the suds getting out of hand). Here is the procedure we followed:1. Let washing machine fill with cold water (hot increases liklihood of felting, especially hot followed by cold) and add detergent. 2. Gently put in wool and let soak. 3. Allow machine to drain and spin to get rid of excess water. 4. Pull wool out of the way of the spout and refill with water the same temperature as you washed with. 5. Let soak a bit to rinse. Then drain and spin again to get nearly dry. This is what I would try but as a word of caution: I have only done this with wool. I don't know how this would work with the leather part of the sheep skin so I'd ask elsewhere or run a trial with something that is sacrificable first.
