Re: [RC] [RC] TWH....are then pinfired? - RavenHi Jody...did the hair on the legs look curly? Or could you actually see the pin holes from the firing? If it was the curly hair...then it's from the damm wrapping they do to the front legs to keep them sensitive so that when the chains hit the back of the pasterns...it causes pain, which causes the horse to "lift" more and step out. I hate the padded industry, the big lick industry and all the Good Ole'Boys (and girls) who injure and damage horses for a $2.00 ribbon. You should see the crap some owners, trainers, riders do to their horses; pressure shoeing and soring, it's just plain horrible! Did you know that the USDA has a Federal Horse Protection Act in place to TRY to protect the TWH from soring and pressure shoeing. It's just a shame what goes on is some TWH barns. For more info please visit http://www.ahdf.org/soring.html Anywho...I'm getting off my soapbox before I say something that will piss someone off.
