We just ignore the old fart (Jim). Coming back to the 90 + degs and 
humidity makes me even more appreciative of the wonderful weather we had 
in Michigan. It was wonderful to meet the upper mid-western riders. 
There is not a friendlier bunch anywhere. Rob even brought a gift of - a 
fifth of Wild Turkey. While riding "point-to-point" is a logistics 
nightmare, it is very nice to know when you leave camp you have 
"someplace to go." Riding to a new base camp did confuse my small 
brained Arab the first time, but it seemed that with point to point they 
sense a purpose when they get the hang of it and are always wanting to 
get around the next bend to see what's there.

The Shore to Shore trail is a jewel and shows what people can do when 
they work together.

The Shore to Shore was a low keyed, laid back ride like I remember when 
I started the sport. For anyone thinking about doing the Shore to Shore 
I highly recommend it.

As far as being spoiled: if you mean being met every few miles with 
water for the horses and candy and water for the rider - well I could 
get used to that ;-) .
