RE: [RC] Freeform saddles- question - Karen Standefer

I think Sympatex is preferred by most. I've run into a horse or so that
will react badly to the Sympatex and needs the wool. But, the Sympatex
keeps the back cooler and also holds the saddle in place.

One of my older models (the oldest one) has 2 billets and they are placed in
a forward position. You can order whatever you need. If you have more than
one horse that you use the saddle for and need forward for one and not the
other, then the 3 billet solution is probably the best. I chose to have
separate saddles because the girths I use are different and I need different
stirrup settings for each horse as well. It keeps me from having to stop on
the trail when I finally remember which horse I rode last and it's not the
one I'm on now.

The best things about the saddle:

1. Extremely Lightweight
2. No pressure points anywhere
3. Infinitely adjustable for the horse and rider.
4. The only leather treeless saddle that has a separate seat with a twist.
5. Very balanced position.
6. Very large area to spread out the weight for the horse.

I've helped a lot of people configure their saddles and I've only heard (3rd
party) of one person who didn't like the saddles. It does take some trial
and error to get things right for each horse/rider combination.

Subject: [RC] Freeform saddles- question

Two questions actually:

Which do people prefer as an under side? The wool or the Sympatex?

Is just the newer models that have the billets (I think there are 3) for
horses that need a more forward placement?

Thanks,
Barb
