RE: [RC] OK..how many of you guessed... - Flora Hillman
Yup. Takes a carriage driver to spot that (raising hand
-- I drive pairs), and I've seen my fair share of carriage runaways.
Watched the same thing happen at the Devon Horse show one year to the winner of
the marathon (driving a pair of CDE Dutch Warmbloods)...in the Dixon Oval in
front of a filled grandstand full of people clapping who didn't have a clue what
was REALLY happening. They just thought the driver was doing it for show!!
:-) As long as you can keep them straight you have a chance of getting
them back under control. Locking the wheels does diddly -- best to pump
the brakes like you would in a car.
Keeping this
endurance related -- my endurance pony was a former tandem leader. :-)
WHEN ARE THEY
GOING TO SHOW THE ENDURANCE RIDERS!! Aghhhh!!

I took it that the wagon was sliding on the muddy
turf, but perhaps you are right that they were out of control...
