I sat on my hands for a while, but just had to throw this
in the pot. (:>)
My first exposure to organized distance riding was in
1941. We rode from Fort Logan, near White Sulpher Springs, to Gtreat
Falls, MT., 40, 40, and 20 miles each day.
I was 11, my horse was 2, probably 1/4
Welch. Must have been legal, there were other horses I could
have ridden. He finished just fine, but his manners left something to be
desired so I didn't get
points there. Physically he felt great at the end and the
next day, passed all the checks.
He was healthy and sound long after this
event.
Just another after thought--------This was the last summer
before our whole world changed, age of innocence went away. Never been the
same again, never will be.

Ah, Come'on people.....we HAVE to have SOMETHING to bitch about
!!!
Face it. We have hit a major DRY SPELL. So, I think we should
pick from a list of interesting items to fuss about.
