RE: [RC] Arabian Definitions - heidiI agree. And I've been looking into Aussie winners and European
winners every chance I get. I've admittedly not looked enough at
South American winners--just haven't had the data. But so far, in
the Aussie and European programs, I am running smack-dab into the
same bloodlines that are successful here. Persik is a case in
point. You can almost duplicate his pedigree by breeding up a
mixture of Abu Farwa, *Witez II, and the French dam line of the
mare Follyat. And it is commonalities between successful
programs (and successful pedigrees) that are significant.

But we should be looking across the US, nay across the globe if we are really looking to understand the direction endurance is taking the bloodlines (which was the original direction of this discussion). The Shagya's and the Arabian/StandardBred Crosses. They been breeding for endurance in Uruguay for 40+ years - and Luna Llena (http://www.endurance.net/2005PAC/info.html) exemplified their programs exceptionally well at the PanAm.
