Through judicious use of medication I, along with many others,> am able to ride in relative comfort I didn't think she was being self-righteous. She was just being Kat...totally factual, non-emotional with her analysis. A few years ago one of our top vets said almost the same thing as the above quote about letting our horses have a little anti-inflamatory help on multi-days or whatever. What he said made perfect sense when you thought about it. Here we raise cain if we can't have our stuff, then are appalled at anyone even suggesting giving something as mild as MSM or even Yucca to our horses. No, I'm not a person who wants to keep a horse going on bute but it's interesting to see how noble we think running on *strong* drugs is for the rider and how appalled we are at the suggestion of letting the horse have even the equivalent of an aspirin. If there was a way to give them access to "just a little" I guess it would be different but it would be a Pandora's box if we ever opened the drug door at all.
