[RC] Hot Toddy Hustle - Maine - Katherine BrunjesFor those of you who missed this new 30/50 mile ride in Maine this past weekend, you'll want to be sure and put it on your caledar for next year - new ride manager, Sharon Levasseur did a really nice job - beautiful scenery on trail (especially the 50 mile ride - we had some spectacular views riding along the ridge of the mountain we climbed) and really nice hospitality. We had a truly "International" mixture of veterinarians: head vet, Art King, from Canada, Rob Arnot (New Brunswick, Canada) and Ron Miles from Maine - it's nice to have a mix of vets who are experienced and aren't shy about cracking jokes. It was one of the more interesting rider's meetings I've attended in a while (exception would have to be my husband's riders' meetings - they are always entertaining). We had perfect Maine weather - low 70s, sunny with a slight breeze, no humidity! This ride is located very close to the Coast of Maine (not far from Belfast, ME), and trails wound around blueberry fields (and this IS blueberry season in Maine - so lots of berries to be had). I'm not sure of all the placings - I lost track after the first 6 in the 50, and after the first 4 in the 30, so here is a "sketchy" ride results posting - I'm sure Sharon will post a complete list when she's had a chance to catch her breath! 30 mile: first to pulse: Lindsay Bean (junior, rookie) on Lazaarr (Luke) Tom Huchinson on Tektonic Cindy Seames on Chance (BC) Peter Seames on Nikodemus 50 mile: Kathy Brunjes on Theatric - 1st Tied for 2nd: Troy Ball on Willie (BC) Wendy Bejarano on Jake Sue Greenall on Tyger Dan Doug Lietsky on ?
