A few years ago..back when you HAD to go over cougar rock...someone made a
video of every horse going over Cougar rock. It was fun and interesting to
watch. The front runners, up until about the middle of the pack, went over
smoothly, gracefully and with hardly a hitch. Then as the second half of
the riders went over, things slowly but surely started to deteriorate,,,riders
bailing off, horses changing their minds about half way up and just one mishap
after another and lots of near mishaps. The difference in rider/horse
skills between the front half and the second half of the "pack" was glaringly
obvious.
