Well, since I am now an arrogant ***** who you think is flaunting her
record, who hasn't helped put on a ride, and who hasn't mentored numerous
new riders, I concede the floor and allow you to win by insult (Steph, you
are NOT included in this...I appreciated your tact and thoughtfulness even
though we disagree).  I listed my record as a tongue-in-cheek statement
because Barbara McGann listed hers...Yes, it does hurt very much that in a
sport I have given so much to, and have gotten so many life long rewards
from, my convictions about the sport are scorned, twisted and belittled. 
Even when I try to joke, it is turned back on me.  A dear friend just
emailed me and told me to quit hurting myself by trying to get people to
listen to what I am trying to convey about my belief in "endurance" as a
sport.  She is, of course, correct.  We have lost every single battle to
hold on to the integrity of "endurance" the founders of this sport
envisioned.  It will continue.  For those of you who listened and
thoughtfully agreed, or disagreed, you are appreciated.  Cindy
