Re: [RC] [RC] 100s discussion//defining endurance-marathons - Cindy CollinsOK, Beverley, this is done in good humor, but...let's play :) Cindy Collins, AERC #176 8,000+ miles, 19 completions on one day 100 milers 2 ultra marathons (50Ks) 4 marathons 2 10Ks So, I think I have the right to an opinion on both endurance riding and running. I am a very slow, unathletic, and ungraceful runner, but I have put my body where my mouth is. In fact, I ran my first marathon because I wanted to know what my horse was experiencing and being asked to do. I also have the right to believe that calling all distances "endurance" is just the same as calling all running "marathons." Once again, I have mentored MANY new riders into this sport. I have also encouraged many riders to try their first 100 miler. We are not arguing about the same thing, I think. Language does matter. I made an A in high school physics, but I'm not a physicist. I honestly don't get this argument. Cindy =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
