[RC] Ride & Tie at Big South Fork - Karen IsaacsLocated on the Cumberland Plateau along the border between Kentucky and Tennessee, Big South Fork has great trails for riding and running. The endurance ride is 3 days this year, Thursday - Saturday, Sept 7-9. There are also three days of Ride & Tie on Friday thru Sunday. Friday and Saturday are the same as the endurance courses (30 or 50/55 miles) while Sunday morning has a short course (~10 miles) for those who just need to loosen up before the drive home. Find a partner and Ride & Tie on Friday in between doing two days of endurance as a break from just riding all day. Your horse will have a great time, and you might too. At least pack your running shoes in case you plan to ride all three days but your horse decides he's had enough fun after Friday. Then you just have to find a willing partner and horse to go out on Saturday. You don't have to be in great shape to R&T any of the distances. Believe me, I know. There might even be a special award for those who finish all 3 Ride & Ties. It probably won't take a lot of time at the awards to read off that list of winners.
