[RC] Newbie saying hello and horse transportation from St. Louis, MO to central WI - Andrea WichmannHello to everyone, I am a newbie. I browse Ridecamp's archives fairly often and have a mentor (Sarah Maass is her name) helping me here in south central MN.I am posting to say hello, and also to advertise a possible transport sharing opportunity. Sarah is bringing a prospective endurance horse for a potential buyer to ride in a novice CTR or perhaps a slow LD at Arkdale WI (central WI, about 20 miles NW of Wisconsin Dells) this coming weekend. Here is a link to the ride flyer, if you cut and paste it, it should work: www.umecra.com/Louise%20Reidel%20Memorial%20Flyer.htm The potential buyer, whose name is Valerie Nicoson, will be coming with a two-horse trailer from the St Louis MO/IL region up to central WI, and she has a standard 2-horse straight load w/mangers up front with ramp. She is willing to haul 1 or 2 horses up...and will have room to haul 1 horse back. Her name again is Valerie Nicoson, and her cell phone is 618-334-6956. Paying or help paying for gas would be great...no other charges...as long as she has all the necessary papers for transporting the horse(s). Valerie will be coming up Friday and will be in Arkdale by afternoon. I think her schedule is flexible for when she's leaving...but probably sometime Sunday. I MAY also be doing my second LD at Arkdale (if I am not baling straw--the hubby is just starting combining wheat). Am wondering if anyone on this email list is planning on doing that ride, and planning on doing it slow -- am looking for a trail buddy for the ride. I ride an appaloosa mare, and she is not fit enuf yet for a faster ride. We successfully completed our first LD and averaged not quite 6 MPH. Thanks to everyone for all the great information you can find on this list! And the stories, etc. etc. ! Andrea Wichmann www.greywolffarms.com
