[RC] John Crandell III & Heraldic - Darlene M. Anderson

Congratulations to John & Heraldic. Looks like Don Huston called this one. I wish I could have been there to see the BC judging.

I sure wish there could be better than a 43% completion rate though! What is it about Tevis that riders aren't able prepare for? I'm curious here...

[RC] Attention Tevis Front Runners - Don Huston

John Crandell riding Heraldic won the OD100 this year http://www.doublejoy.com/erol/RideResults/rrReport.asp?distanceID=11384 and will be trying to repeat what his good friend Mathew Mackay-Smith riding WC Freiheit (aka Fred) did in 1995 by winning this years Tevis Cup.
Heraldic http://www.doublejoy.com/erol/Individual/hhReport.asp?aeHorseID=35817&Horse=Heraldic has several advantages over Fred, he has less miles (less damage) and he knows the trail because he competed at Tevis 2005 ridden by James Kerr, an experienced Tevis vet. I certainly hope that Heraldic and all the others that will be trying to beat him can compete without being driven too far beyond their limits like Mack did to Fred.
