Thank you all for the many helpful suggestions. I will wait until we have a 
cool night and go out in the morning before it gets light and kill the 
little beasts.

As far as any concern about local environmentalists, I'm sure they won't 
mind if or how I kill them. Around here most of our die hard 
environmentalists are Democrats.

Those hornet were confident and aggressive. They didn't even care how big I 
was. They didn't want to debate or discuss what I was doing there, or even 
suggest we to mediate our problem. They were ready for a fight and just 
attacked. Based on that I have to assume they must be all Republicans. Darn, 
you got to admire them just a little for that.
